The Children of Concordia are treated to many fun activities that accompany their special events like Rally Day, Vacation Bible School, the Children’s Christmas Service and much more throughout the year.
During the year the youth enjoy Christian fun and fellowship for youth in 6th grade and older. These young people and their guests enjoy activities like skiing, hayrides, bowling, lock-in parties all with adult chaperones. Friends are always welcome.
The congregation routinely plans a monthly dinner for both the church family and everyone in the community who would like to participate. Sometimes these meals are held at Concordia or there are other opportunities where we go to a near by restaurant to eat and build relationships with one another. It is a great opportunity meet people and to get to know each other. Watch the announcements for more details.
LENTEN SOUP AND SANDWICH SUPPER
During the Lenten season the congregation provides a soup and sandwich supper each Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall prior to the 6:30 pm Lenten worship service. Various volunteer groups within the congregation both provide and serve the food. The community is invited to join in the meal and worship. In 2017 the soup and sandwich suppers are served each Wednesday from March 1 through April 5.
The Hannah Quilters meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday for fellowship and creating quilts to use as gifts throughout the year for various mission opportunities. They donate many of their quilts to Neighbors, Inc. to help people in South St. Paul. If interested in participating contact Concordia’s office.
Night to Unite Block Party
The church is sponsoring this great event on August 1, 2017. The neighborhood is invited for food, demonstrations, games, and a time to get to know each other. Watch for Facebook postings and invitations you may receive from the church.
A special worship service with communion is provided during the week of Christmas and Easter for people shut-in and unable to attend on a regular basis for medical or disability reasons. For this service members of Concordia arrange personal transportation to pick up and accompany each person during worship and an accompanying lunch that follows. Anyone interested in participating should call the church office to sign and help make arrangements.
Meals on Wheels
The Concordia Lutheran Church participates in volunteering to deliver meals to people who are home bound. Anyone wanting to participate should contact the church office for information about how to sign up.
Throughout the year Concordia participates in food drives to help provide needed resources for children and our neighbors throughout South St. Paul and the surrounding areas. Please watch the announcements for the next opportunity to participate in this important service.
